Fintechee: FIX API Trading Platform helps traders connect with liquidity providers to get streaming quotes

FIX API Trading Platform

FIX API Trading Platform is a functionality offered by the backend of Fintechee WEB Trader, facilitating traders in establishing connections with liquidity providers to access streaming quotes.

In addition to FIX API connectivity with all liquidity providers, our institutional version offers support for multiple-user management, a price aggregator, and a smart order routing system. For more detailed information, please refer to our other articles:

What does FIX Stand for?

FIX stands for Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol. It is a message-based standard for real-time electronic information exchange in security institutional transactions.

Which Software Package Do We Integrate with?

We utilize QuickFIX and its Java version, a comprehensive messaging engine implemented for the FIX protocol.

Which Version of the FIX Engine?

Our FIX engine is based on Quickfix 2.X.

Which Version of the FIX Protocol?

We employ FIX4.4 as the version of the FIX protocol. While FIX4.2 and older versions can be configured, they are not recommended.

What Other Package is Required to Complete the Installation?

Stunnel is the software used to encrypt messages and ensure a secure connection. We will provide a guide to assist you in configuring it correctly.

Can I Continue Using My Old FIX API Account?

Our Old Application Conditions (Deprecated):

If you represent an institution, the answer is NO. For individual traders choosing the “Free Plan,” the answer is NO. During the FIX API package installation period, we need to verify your information with the liquidity provider to configure a correct settings file. As liquidity providers don’t exclusively cooperate with us, it’s impossible to share client information. However, for individual traders opting for the “Pro Plan,” the answer is YES. Setting up the environment personally eliminates the need for information confirmation with the liquidity provider. There is no obligation to use specified liquidity providers.

Our New Application Conditions (Updated on March 23rd, 2021):

Yes, you can. We will guide you on how to set up the environment. Please subscribe to our free newsletter for tips or important notifications.

Does Fintechee Provide Demo FIX API?

No, as we are not a liquidity provider and lack authorization to offer brokerage services. However, we can assist you in obtaining demo accounts from liquidity providers as long as you have a license for our FIX API trading platform individual version (whether for the “Pro Plan” or “Free Plan”).

Can I Sign Up for a New Demo FIX API Account with a Specified Liquidity Provider?

The FIX trading environment is expensive, but as long as you have a license for our FIX API trading platform individual version (whether for the “Pro Plan” or “Free Plan”), demo FIX API accounts fall within our service scope, regardless of whether the liquidity providers are our partners.

For those interested in trying the UI and automated trading, we offer a demo environment on our website. Please visit the WEB Trader for an interactive preview. The UI mirrors that of the FIX API individual version.

Is the FIX API Individual Trading Environment Dedicated?

Yes, it is installed on your local PC, ensuring exclusive access.

Why can’t we provide the FIX API dedicated environment under the Introducing Broker mode? Because the introducing broker doesn’t trade in person; they engage in marketing activities, and the FIX API trading environment, installed on the server-side, must be a shared environment.

Which Liquidity Provider Requires Monthly Volume?

Liquidity providers often update their policies, making it challenging to provide a definitive answer. We continually monitor mainstream liquidity providers and will keep you informed of any updates. Please subscribe to our free newsletter for tips or important notifications.

For provider information, please refer to our website: Liquidity Providers.

Does the Liquidity Provider Charge Fees for Streaming Quotes and Trading?

Fees depend on the liquidity provider; some charge fees, while others do not. We will keep you updated on provider policies. Please subscribe to our free newsletter for tips or important notifications.

How to Install and Use the FIX API Trading Platform (Individual Version)?

We will provide a guide on configuring “Stunnel” and a configuration file to initialize your trading environment, taking just a few minutes to complete.

Further articles will be posted to provide additional insights into this technology.

What If the Monthly Volume Goal Isn’t Achieved?

Our Old Application Conditions (Deprecated):

If you choose the “Pro Plan,” no monthly volume is required. For the “Free Plan,” the system will predict potential volume and restrict your account automatically. In such cases, changing your plan promptly will ensure uninterrupted system functionality.

Our New Application Conditions (Updated on March 23rd, 2021):

No monthly volume is required for both plans. Whether you have a “Free Plan” or “Pro Plan,” no consequences will arise if the monthly volume goal isn’t achieved.
